Swarna brings a clear focus on leadership, collaboration, and continuous improvement, ensuring that every aspect of the learning environment promotes wellbeing, development, and inclusion. Her approach is grounded in professional integrity, a deep understanding of the early years frameworks, and a genuine passion for creating positive outcomes for children.

Educational Leader

Educational leaders provide curriculum guidance to ensure children achieve the learning outcomes outlined in the approved framework, the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).

Surakshya

Surakshya is an Early Childhood Teacher and our Educational Leader at Garfield Childcare. She leads our team in delivering high-quality educational programs that support each child’s learning, development and wellbeing.

With her professional knowledge, warm approach and passion for early childhood education, Surakshya works closely with educators to guide curriculum planning, extend children’s interests and create meaningful learning experiences. She supports our team to reflect on their practice, build strong relationships with children and families, and provide a nurturing environment where every child feels valued, confident and supported.

Sameena completed a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, and commenced with Garfield in May 2026.

Maryam

Maryam holds a Certificate III in Children’s Services, an Advanced Diploma, A Bachelor of Teaching, A Masters of Early Childhood, and a Masters of Special education. With current NESA accreditation, Maryam is now undertaking the highly accomplished NESA teaching accreditation. She has been at Garfield Childcare for almost 10 years.

All of our educators have had Working with Children Checks approved and have been employed on the basis of their individual merits and experience in the field of Early Childhood Education.
